I’m currently working on an ongoing project “Parlando – Where Music and Words Meet” which officially launched in August of 2016. Parlando will present short audio pieces, from 2 to 10 minutes in length, combining music and spoken word in various ways. Since my teenage years I’ve spent time reading and writing poetry, and since my twenties I’ve played various instruments well enough to enjoy myself. When someone asks what I play, I used to say “Fretted string instruments,” but to be honest, for the most part it’s guitars–but I think the guitar is a universe. It’s got bass and baritone registers, and upper registers played with a capo way up the neck. And altered tunings, and 12 strings, and electric guitars with all kinds of pickups, and nylon-stringed instruments with their soft pluck. And then I go and twist things around with odd electronic effects, or a MIDI pickup.
I’m often stumped when someone asks what kind of music I like. There are folks who like only one kind of music?

I’m starting a new project for my blog, The violent Ink. I’m interested in interviewing bloggers who I follow and who produce work I find interesting.
This would be a short set of q & a (what got you started, a bit about your background, thoughts, idea, etc, whatever you want to share).
It’s a rough idea but I’m interested in somehow building up the blogging “community.”

Hi Frank. I’m guessing you’ve seen my ads for top 10 album lists. I could use your input, as I’m aware of your eclectic tastes. I’m guessing you have a short list of favorite records with lyrics that might approach poetry? Dylan, Jim and Van Morrison, Pete Brown? Right now I’m getting primarily classic rock lists, all fine and valid, but would love to see some critics’ top 10 lists that might veer off the beaten path. And I’m sure you have at least a few detours! If interested, just shoot me a list, with maybe a few sentences highlighting one or more of your picks. Thanks much in advance!
